Ohio Valley JVSD special meeting set

The Ohio Valley Joint Vocational School District is having a special meeting on Tuesday, June 9 at the Ohio Valley Career and Technical Center in West Union at 7 p.m. There will be a Vocational Advisory Committee meeting immediately following the board meeting.

Manchester board to meet

The Manchester Local School District will meet in regular session 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at Manchester High School. The Facilities Committee will meet before the board meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Alumni Dinner in Sinking Spring

The annual Sinking Spring School Alumni dinner will be held on Saturday, June 13 at the Sinking Spring Community Center, also known as the former school gymnasium. Guests are encouraged to wear red, white and blue in honor of Flag Day. The social hour is from 4-6 p.m. Dinner will be a catered buffet served at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $12 per person. Arts Council Mural Project planned

The Adams County Arts Council invites anyone interested in helping with a mural project for downtown West Union to come to a meeting 6 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Venture Productions, Inc., 11516 SR 41, West Union. You don’t have to be an artist to be involved. For more information, call Scott Amen at 544-2574, ext.25.

Shred It Day planned

Shred It Day is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at Dinsmore Farm and Fleet, 11780 SR 41 West Union. Secure document shredding by Shred-It with all proceeds go to help the stray dogs of Adams County.

Sponsored by Crop Production Services and other generous donors the cost is $5 for one to three boxes, $5 for each add box (six box limit).

Floral Hall packets available

The Adams County Fair Floral Hall Packets and Entry Forms are now available for pick-up at all Adams County Public Library Locations. The Adams County Fair is July 12-18.

Arts Council announces Summer Arts School

The 2015 Summer Arts School organized by the Adams County Arts Council will be from July 20 – 24 at the West Union Elementary on Lloyd Road in the all-propose room. The time each day is 9 a.m. to noon.

Instructions will be given by qualified teachers in the fields of drawing, painting, sculpture, theater and music. Application forms will be distributed in the county elementary schools in late April. Students ages 9 – 13 are eligible. More information will be available in the near future.

Reformers Unanimous to meet

The Reformers Unanimous Addiction Recovery Program is held 7 p.m. every Friday at 106 Rice Dr., in West Union. For information contact Phil Fulton at 937-587-1797 or Ron Baker at 937-544-4110.
