Have you noticed the increased canine activity in your neighborhood lately? Canine statues, that is. Every year at this time, hand-painted statues of animals start showing up at local businesses and public libraries around Adams County. There is even a cow statue in the Courthouse Annex in West Union.
These works of art are on display for a limited time and will be auctioned at an annual benefit fundraiser for the Animal Shelter in West Union. The Humane Society of Adams County will be holding its “Howl-O-Ween” dinner and auction at the GE Employee Park at 1200 Jaybird Road in Peebles on Oct. 24. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner is at 6 p.m.,and the live auction entertainment begins at 8 p.m..
