Jeff Barr and Charlie Scott, both employees of Venture Productions, Inc., recently graduated from Project STIR. Project STIR (Steps Toward Independence and Responsibility) is an intense three-day seminar which focuses on strengthening self-advocacy skills for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Topics covered include rights and responsibilities, team building, problem solving, self-awareness, community education, and effective communication. This program uses a “train the trainer” model so that individuals can take the skills learned back to their local communities and train others.
