We have lots of need for healing prayer. Pastor Dan Harrison’s mother, Phyllis, passed away last week and services were held in Indiana. Sympathy and prayers are extended to Pastor Dan and Cheryl, his father, and all their family.

Sympathy is also extended to the family of Steve Wamsley of Cherry Fork, who passed away last week at Mercy Clermont Hospital. He is survived by his wife Andrea, mother Evelyn Wamsley of Cherry Fork, son Aaron, daughter Jessica Wamsley, brother David Wamsley of Cherry Fork, sister Linda (Tim) Naylor of Cherry Fork, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral was held last week with Tom Claibourne officiating. Memorials can be made to the Wayne Township Alumni.

Bertha Edenfield is not doing well and her son said she is scheduled for placement of a pacemaker this week. Please keep her in your prayers.

Juree Burns is currently in the hospital but is scheduled to be discharged this week. I hope she is feeling better.

Pastor Greg Roberts’ grandson Xavier had his second chemotherapy treatment and thankfully did better than he did with the first. Keep their family in your prayers.

W3CU will be hosting a community prayer walk next Sunday evening, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. beginning in the Sanctuary. We plan to celebrate with soup and sandwiches in the Fellowship Hall after the evening service and hope you will attend and bring along a friend.

We have been distributing crocks from the original order. If you placed an order and have not heard from me or Patsy, please call. We should be getting in more orders this week. We also continue to sell the Winchester Bicentennial Books at $25 each.

Winchester’s Past (Florence Bryson): Rev. Sullivan Edmiston married Lavandi Bartlett, the daughter of Latham and Hannah Marsh Bartlett of Crosby Twp., Hamilton County, Ohio in 1863. Latham was the son of Josiah born in 1767. He was an early resident of Hamilton County and there is an article about him in the Hamilton County history. The families are both buried in the New Haven Cemetery. Sullivan’s first church was at the Decatur Methodist Church and several of their children are shown as born at Decatur. They had a 38 acre farm near Clayton before they bought the farm near Winchester. They were the parents of five boys and one girl. They are all buried in the Winchester Cemetery with the exception of Franklin. James L., the oldest son born in 1863, married Clara Crissman. They purchased the farm when Sullivan and Lavandi retired and moved to Hillsboro. They had seven children and people may remember some of them. Continued next week.
