Many people have stopped by to explore the Silhouette Cameo 2D craft cutter at the Adams County Public Library during the last few weeks. The Silhouette Cameo is a powerful craft and design tool that cuts 2D shapes in paper, fabric, and vinyl. Quilters have cut custom shapes from fabric, teens have created vinyl stickers to decorate phone cases or vinyl window clings, and scrapbookers have created custom paper shapes for projects.

There is still time to stop by and discover how to use the Cameo cutter at the West Union Library through Saturday, Nov. 21 and at the North Adams Library on Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 23 – 25. AmeriCorps member Melissa will demonstrate the cutter and help you select a design, or create one of your own. Ask about creating iron-on letters or designs for T-shirts, or cutting stencils in freezer paper for fabric or smooth surfaces. Drop by to see the Cameo in action, or call ahead for a longer appointment, and bring your own paper or fabric. Call the West Union Library at 937-544-2591, or the North Adams Library at 937-386-2556.

Weekly Story Time for preschoolers and younger siblings is offered at each Adams County Public Library. Come help us celebrate Thanksgiving by listening to a read-aloud story, singing songs, making crafts, playing games, and having fun with friends at the library. Reading aloud with your young child helps develop a love of learning, and prepares them to learn reading skills. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are all invited to bring your children to the library. Join Deborah at the Manchester Library on Mondays at 10:30 a.m., Julia at the North Adams Library on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., Sherry at the Peebles Library on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., and Tara at the West Union Library on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Activities are also offered for school-age children and “tweens and teens.” Donelle teaches a Teen Art Class for ages 10 – 16 at the West Union Library every other Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The next Teen Art Class is Nov. 19. Teens are invited to work crafts, play games, and do projects with Deborah at the Manchester Library every other Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. after school. Teens are invited to join Julia for After School STEAM Activity Club at the North Adams Library every other Thursday at 3 p.m. School age kids can come to After School activities at the North Adams Library every Tuesday at p.m.
