The Christmas season is almost upon us.
The day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, as it’s come to be known, will have many folks in Adams County rushing from pillar to post to find the perfect Christmas gift at just the right price. However, not everyone chooses to dive into that frantic holiday brouhaha, choosing instead to start their holiday on a more subdued and traditional note by taking the family out to find the perfect Christmas tree.
For over two decades Miller’s Christmas Tree Farm has been the destination of families who value the ritual of finding and hewing down the yule tree. However, the 2015 holiday season will be its last.
Owners Bob and Eileen Miller, will be retiring at the end of this year.
“We want everyone to know how much we’ve appreciated their patronage over the years,” Eileen Miller told the Defender, “We’ve had families return year after year and we’ve watched their children grow up and return with their own children. Being a part of this memory-making tradition has been wonderful.”
Located at 1600 Eckmansville Road in West Union, the Miller’s farm offers more than just a chance to cut down a live Christmas tree. Visitors are greeted with hot chocolate, cookies, and much merry-making as they choose their tree, wreaths, and greenery.
Opening the day after Thanksgiving, the farm will be open every day except Monday, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until Dec. 24.
