The H&R Block tax service in West Union, last Thursday, presented another $1,000 sweepstakes check to a lucky Adams County couple. David and Connie Francis of West Union are the fourth winners of the tax preparer’s “1,000 win $1,000 Daily Sweepstakes.”
“I never thought I’d win, I’ve never won anything like this before” said Francis.
David, a truck driver for Sardinia Ready Mix said the money couldn’t have come at a better time. His wife, Connie, has had two bouts with cancer in the past year, and has only recently completed her chemotherapy treatments.
“The bills come in two and three at a time,” he said.
Mrs. Francis worked in home-healthcare until she became ill. The couple have two children.
While the sweepstakes last, 32,000 people nationwide will win a combined total of $32,000,000. The sweepstakes will continue until Feb. 15. The last drawing will be held Feb. 19.
