Another reported heroin bust was made Wednesday afternoon in Winchester after Police Chief David Benjamin pulled over a 19-year-old on state Route 136, according to police.

Deniko Ellison, of Cincinnati, was charged with trafficking heroin after Benjamin allegedly clocked a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe traveling 69 mph in a 60-mph zone on state Route 32 and pulled over the vehicle.

Benjamin called a K-9 officer to perform a walk-around of the car and the dog reportedly alerted on the front driver’s side door. Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly discovered 4.3 grams of heroin located in the 12-volt electrical outlet in the center console.

Ellison was arrested and transported to the Winchester police station for questioning and was later released from the Adams County Jail. No other information is available at this time pending further investigation.
