(Peebles, OH): The final show of 2015 at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex took place on Saturday Oct. 31 on Halloween afternoon. Fans were treated to one last show before the off season kicks in. Along with the typical regular show, the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association came back to complete their rained out show from Sept. 25. The 410 Sprint Cars were in action for the Second Annual Showdown at the Creek which paid $2,500 to win for 30 laps of racing action.

The Sprint Cars had nothing but a session of Hot Laps before running a feature event which had its lineup determined back on Sept. 25. Danny Smith and Cole Duncan would lead the field to the green flag. As the field would sort themselves out, Duncan took off early and was in no mood to look back. Smith found himself in a battle with Ron Blair for the second position as the two swapped the spot back and forth.

Laps clicked off at a high rate of speed until the caution flag flew late in the race. While pacing under the yellow flag fans could see that the leader Duncan had a flat left rear tire. Duncan chose to hold on to the lead but as the green came back out, Blair and Danny were all over the black 22 car. Duncan couldn’t hold on and eventually took himself off of the track leaving the race lead to Danny Smith who held on to win his first race of 2015. His win Saturday kept his streak of now 41 years straight with at least one win. Blair, Nathan Skaggs, Ryan Meyers and Josh Davis rounded out the top five.

Crazy Compacts then hit the track for the Inaugural Adams County Fall Shootout 20. Prize money and other contingency prizes for the winners was provided by the DRC.net and Chris Vance. Kyle Purdy flexed his muscle in the feature event jumping out over Clyde Saunders and holding on to win the first running of the race. Saunders wound up second with Chris Shelton, Keith Anderson and Ashley Logan rounding out the top five.

The Sport Mods showed support for the afternoon show with 22 competitors turning out. Chris Shelton and Emily Jordan led the field to the green flag. Shelton jumped out early with Brennan Bobst right on his tail. Bobst worked Shelton all race long but couldn’t get his 24 car out front enough to secure the lead. Shelton won the battle and picked up the win. Bobst came in second with Rick Neace, Emily Jordan and Aaron Branham finishing in the top five.

Modifieds also had a strong car count of 22 for the final race of the year. Anthony Slusher and Eric Sheppard led the field to the start. Soon it was obvious that Slusher and Don Adams would be the cars to beat. Adams worked the high side trying to take the lead from Slusher. The two went back and forth until Adams cleared Slusher around the halfway point but just as soon as he did, Slusher had his number 90 car right back around him. Slusher held on to win and enter victory lane where a very happy crew and family awaited him. Rick Crobin, Don Adams, Adam Stricker and Eric Sheppard rounded out the top five.

The Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Cars were the final race of the season on the track. Shaun Scott, who had won the past two races, picked up his third win in a row. Scott, who jumped into a Legend Car in the later stages of the season, has come on strong and made himself a regular in victory lane. Following Scott in the top five were Pierce Foster, Dave Francis, Tom Elliott and Ashley Tackett.

Not everyone’s season ended in Victory Lane, or on all four wheels.
