Teams dash off from the start line to start the 2014 Barnyard Olympics.

One of the more popular and exciting events returns to the 2915 Adams County Fair as the Fourth Annual Barnyard Olympics returns to the center ring on Saturday, July 18 at 6 p.m.

For those fair visitors who may not be familiar with the Olympics of county fair style, teams of 10 athletes from all four Adams County High Schools compete in a variety of competitions, all of which revolve around the “barnyard” theme. In each event, the teams earn points according to their first, second, third, or fourth place finish and at the end of the competition, the team accumulating the most points will collect a $1,000 first prize that will go to their school’s athletic department.

Coming back to defend their Olympic title from 2014 will be the Manchester Greyhounds, while second place North Adams, third place Peebles, and fourth place West Union will all be looking to dethrone the Hounds and take home the big first prize.
